Requirements

Before we proceed, make sure you have these applications on your phone. If you don’t have these, download them through your App Store.

  • Adobe Lightroom Application
  • Zip File Extractor Application, preferably RAR app.

1. Downloading Lightroom Preset

You can browse through the internet for Lightroom presets or check out my free filters. After you’ve found the filter you want to use for your pictures, find and click the download button.

Usually, presets are compressed into a zip file because some CMS like WordPress does not allow uploading dng file types. And that’s why we’ll need to extract the file after download.

Extracting zipped files would vary from one application to the other. In this guide, we’ll be using the RAR app.

Extracting the Zip File Using RAR App

1. Open the RAR application on your mobile device.

And we are all set! You should see the DNG file after the extraction. Let’s proceed with importing the image into Lightroom.

2. Importing the DNG file to Lightroom Mobile

Once you’ve imported the file, using the filter on all images you want is one step away. Importing the Lightroom preset DNG file is very easy. Just follow these steps:

1. Open the Adobe Lightroom application on your mobile device.

Viola! You just finished importing the downloaded filter. We can now move on to applying it in raw images.

3. Copying and Applying the Preset to the Image

Before using the filter, the raw photo you want to use the preset on should be imported to Lightroom. You can go through the same Importing instruction on Step 2. But this time, import the raw image where our filter will be applied to.

If the raw image is ready, let’s go ahead and copy the filter from the DNG file and paste it.

Copying the Filter

1. Open the DNG file.

Final Tips

Of course, I know that you have your own aesthetic taste. And sometimes, the after effect of downloaded filters would vary on the lighting and other details of the raw image. Thus, refinements may be necessary. Don’t be hesitant to tweak some of the basic settings and configurations.
